Huw Edwards was named as the BBC Presenter involved in the Scandal over Payments for Sexually Explicit Images from a Young Person by his wife.
His wife's statement confirmed the accusations were made against him. She said he suffered from "serious mental health issues." He is now an inpatient at a hospital where he will stay "for the near future."
The Sun published the story on Friday night, five days earlier. It claimed that a BBC Presenter paid PS35,000 to a young man for sexually-explicit images. The money was used by the boy to finance his drug habit.
Metropolitan Police has concluded its investigation and stated that there was no crime committed. The Sun published more accusations on Wednesday, claiming that the host had violated lockdown policies to meet with someone through a dating application in 2021.
Edwards’ wife's statements come after allegations made by a fourth person who accused the presenter of misconduct News.
